Presentations of Learning

Have you ever slept in a barn? Run across the George Washington Bridge, or spent the night in a light house? Have you ever rock climbed, backpacked, or canoed, visited a working West Virginia Coal mine, or had coffee in Washington with your Senator? Have you ever slept under the stars or under the bright lights of New York? Imagine what you would learn if you did.
Imagine the Rolling Academy…an advanced leadership academy using a bus as classroom, base camp, and vehicle for service and adventure challenges intending to grow individuals as leaders. The Rolling Academy is expeditionary with emphasis on individual growth and group development through perspective, challenge, confidence and opportunity.
The Academy is for youth with demonstrated leadership potential in grades 9-11 and takes place throughout the country over the course of 2 weeks during the summer. Students apply to participate and are invited to join the expedition. Youth are selected by scholarship committee and recommended for the program.
“Rolling Academy is a perfect combination of all life’s lessons: teaching me daily with examples of leadership, craftsmanship and teamwork. Rolling Academy made me a different person by exposing me to new experiences in unfamiliar places all over the country.” Camille Zimmerman RA 2008
